Obituary for Ann Carroll Cook

November 30, 1944 - January 31, 2020
Ann Carroll (Murdock) Cook, wife of James Cook of 13 Flam Street, Miramichi, passed away on January 31, 2020 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 75. Born in Nelson Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late George and Beatrice (Washburn) Murdock.

Carroll worked for 30 years as a Resident Attendant at Mount St. Joseph, a perfect career for her caring nature. She loved being outdoors, baking, and learning new hobbies – everything from painting to rug hooking to quilting, even teaching her granddaughters how to sew. Carroll was sweet, kind, generous, thoughtful, and cherished by her children and grandchildren. She selflessly devoted her life to the happiness of others, especially her Sweets and their children.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James; her children, Linda Cook of Miramichi, Sherry (Perry) Williston of Miramichi, Ronnie (Jennifer Savage) of Miramichi, Ellen Cook (Ed Theriault) of Fredericton, Kim (John) Corlett of Miramichi, and Erica Fitzpatrick of Miramichi; her sister, Debby Manuel (John) of Napan; her half-sisters Bernice Liptak (Bob) of Connecticut and Jean Parrs (George) of Pennsylvania; her brother, Percy (Judy Parks) Murdock of Miramichi; 13 grandchildren, Jimmy and Holly Quann, Evan and Mindy Williston, Owen and Leslie-Ann Cook, Nickolas and Andrew Theriault, Katie and Lauren Corlett, Ella, Lexi and Mya Fitzpatrick, and two great-grandchildren, Rollie Williston and Grae Newman.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Sarah Martin (Daryl) and Judy Sargent (Harold) of Miramichi, two half-sisters, Stella Best of Bermuda and Doris McGrath (Paul), one niece Janet Jardine and one brother-in-law Daryl Martin.

Carroll is under the care of Adams Funeral Home, Miramichi. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 11 am from St. Michael’s Basilica, Miramichi with Father John Keoughan as Celebrant. Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell and St. Michael’s Choir and the hymns were “Here I Am Lord”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, “Gentle Woman/Hail Mary” and the recessional hymn was “Be Not Afraid”. The scriptures and Prayer of the Faithful was read by Debby Manuel. Reflection on Carroll’s Life was presented by Lauren Corlett.

Donations to King St. Elementary School (current home of former Saint Andrew’s Elementary students) would be appreciated.

Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd, 140 King St., Miramichi, telephone (506) 773-3492 or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca
