Obituary for Keith Gammon

1943 – 2019

Keith Preston Gammon, husband of Lorraine (MacKnight) Gammon of Miramichi passed away at his residence with his family by his side on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the age of 76.



Born in Chatham, NB, on March 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth (Betty) (Preston) Gammon. He was a pipe fitter by trade with UPM for many years and attended St. Andrew’s United Church.



He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (MacKnight) Gammon; one daughter, Cynthia Creamer (John) of Miramichi; two sons: Stephen and Daryl Gammon of Miramichi; five grandchildren: Brittany, Sarah, Mason, Sydney and Jaiden; one sister, Shirley MacDiarmid (Sherman) of Miramichi. He was predeceased by his parents.



Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service was held at St. Andrew’s United Church on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Joanne Wiseman and St. Andrew’s Choir and the hymns were “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, “All the Way My Saviour Leads Me”, “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” and the recessional hymn was “Go Now in Peace”. The lighting of the memory candle was done by granddaughter Jaiden Gammon. The scripture readings was read by Father Leon Creamer and granddaughters Sarah Creamer and Sydney Gammon and a poem “Remember Me” was read by granddaughter Brittany Creamer. Remembrances of Keith was presented by John and Rev. Charlene MacKnight.



Pallbearers were Mason Gammon (Grandson), Greg MacDiarmid (Nephew), Ted Gammon (Cousin), Gary Colwell (Cousin), Don Morrissey (Cousin) and Ray Carter (Friend). Interment was held in the Riverside Cemetery.



As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Andrew’s United Church, Extra Mural Program, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
