Obituary for Frances Y. MacLean

1930 - 2019
Frances Yvonne MacLean, wife of the late Ian MacLean of Miramichi and formerly of Black River Bridge passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the age of 88.

Born in Chatham, on August 14, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Fowlie and Stella (Jardine) Dickson. Frances was a homemaker. She attended St. Andrew’s United Church and was a former member of the U.C.W.

She is survived by three daughters: Roberta Taylor of Napan, Elaine Giggie (Keith) of Miramichi and Caroline Bourque (Armand) of Quispamsis; one son, Dwight Lamkey (Valerie) of Black River Bridge; six grandchildren and fourteen great– grandchildren; one sister, Jessie MacDonald (Edward) of Point Aux Carr and one sister–in–law, Annie MacLean of Miramichi.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ian MacLean; son, Roger Lamkey; son–in–law, Elwin Taylor; two brothers: Thomas and George Dickson and infant brother, Anthony Dickson.

Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Monday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service was held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 188 Wellington St., Miramichi, on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 2pm with Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight officiating. Music for the service was by Mrs. Joanne Wiseman and St. Andrew’s Choir. The hymns for the service was “In The Garden”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Love Lifted Me” and the recessional hymn was “God Be with You Till We Meet Again”. The lighting of the Memory Candle was by great granddaughter Emma Walsh. The scripture readings was read by granddaughter Cora Underhill. Special readings “When I Must Leave You” and “Life Is But a Stopping Place” was presented by granddaughters Kristyn Taylor and Tori Manuel. Honorary pallbearers were Nan and Cameron MacDonald, Agnes Lamkey, Eva Dignam, Eric Manuel, Doug Jardine, Heather Hogan, Phyllis Sweezey, Ann Trevors, Carmel MacDonald and John MacKnight. Pallbearers were Keith Giggie, Arman Bourque, Christ Taylor, Brad Bourque, Zack Taylor and Ty Manuel. Interment was held in the Black River Community Cemetery.

As expression of sympathy, donations to St. Andrew’s United Church, Black River Community Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
